My forms explore subtle asymmetry. A dance is created between the opposite
contours of the pot. Part of my artistic journey is the search and discovery of
the endless dances that express elegance and grace.
The richness, depth,
and variation of a long woodfiring complements the asymmetry of my forms. These
same characteristics also draws one in to touch and handle the forms.
The
tactile and sensual characteristic inherent in clay is as important to me as form
and surface treatment. It determines the size and shape of much of my work. Having
the tactile aspect an integral part of the work generates a strong and powerful
aesthetic experience.
